Largo | Orlando

There hasn’t been too much going on these past few weeks. Or rather, there has been, it’s just been more or less the same thing (not complaining!)

Last weekend, Funeral System, Grave Ascension, and Vacuous Depths played out in Largo at Sneaky’s Bar. I snapped a few photos, but it wasn’t the best venue as far as aesthetics and lighting goes. I’ve been feeling socially exhausted, I spent most of the night relaxing outside by myself. Randomly, there was a “zazz” band playing, it was unique, kind of chaotic and lent a surreal feel to the night. It was pleasant.

This past Friday, I spent the night with Stephen, Eli, Jenn, Chloe and Adam. We hit up the arcade then stopped by Legion on the way home. Stephen headed to Jacksonville Saturday afternoon as Shot was playing a show that night, so I had to cut my weekend short with him.

Sunday, Danielle invited me and Chloe up to Orlando for a cook out.

I haven’t been feeling well, so I ended up calling out of work sick yesterday, for the first time since September of last year. I slept for about 14 hours, I guess I had a fever because when I woke it had broken and I felt like I had a pillow stuffed inside my head and an elephant on my chest.

I spent the evening with Stephen and Eli at a local strip club; then we cooked out and cuddled up to Night of the Living Dead. When he puts his arms around me and I bury my face in those curls, I feel furthest from the grave and it quiets the constant commotion inside my head. I would never dare tell him how much that comforts me.

Funeral System is playing in South Florida this coming weekend. Stephen invited me to go, but I’m just not in the mood to be around that many people for that extended amount of time. I could probably use a quiet, detoxing weekend in.

  1. Seeing shows every week must be exhausting but fun! Are they usually local or international bands? I don’t get out much I’m a homebody but whenever there is a good show I do go.

Ragnarok and Inquisition will be coming soon I haven’t heard much of their music so I probably won’t go but it’s still cool to know that we are finally getting international bands. Septicflesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse will be coming in October but I’m not a fan of them either. Supposedly Deicide is coming in August.

It’s good to know that Stephen has lifted that dark cloud and made you smile and feel safe again. Even if you don’t feel like you should express your true feelings with him when you feel the time is right I think you should tell him “Thank you”.

Your photos are always awesome! I don’t do much on the weekend besides play video games and spend time with my Husband.

    1. I miss quiet weekends in with the boyfriend and video games. I used to always joke with Jon that we spend more time with each other in the virtual world than the real world. Not a complaint! I was as bad as he was with the video game playing. I think it was a wonderful way to spent quality time with each other. Unfortunately, Stephen doesn’t play video games, which is a total bummer!

Most of the shows Stephen’s band plays with are local to Tampa Bay, so much of the time the line up is pretty much the same and they’re held at small bars. I like being there to support and take pictures though. It’s a good reason to get out. We do get quite a few bands passing through the larger venues that are international though. I am SO excited for Inquisition, they’re playing in mid-September.

I feel like the more you bare your soul to someone, the more vulnerable you make yourself to them. If they know you feel a strong way toward them, they can manipulate and take advantage of your emotions. I don’t think Stephen is the type to do that, but I’m not taking any chances. But you’re right, maybe in time!
